You're right, that teacher is a genius.
You might not be able to remember 1961. It was the year Mary and I were married. It is also the year T. Coleman Andrews gave his great speech. I mentioned some of the things in the speech yesterday to a guy and he asked me to put those thoughts in an article if I could. Fortunately I had a copy of the speech. SoThursday night I typed up those portions of the speech and it is already on the web. That speech covers some of the teachers points.

Our 'gut' is telling many of us something very sinister in going on in this nation. Well, it is more then our 'gut', it's what we know from the past. Some of us are old enough to remember the Nazis in Germany and the Fascists in Italy. Then in more recent time, more of us can remember the Communists back in early days of the Cold War years.
Today we hear many of our friends refer to the Obama administration, and most of the Democrats in Congress, as Communists or Socialists. Well, we've been there before.
"Most Americans, when they contemplate the bewildering and seemingly inescapable predicament in which we find ourselves at home and abroad, appear to think that it all just happened. Yet the blueprint for putting an end to our "noble experiment" in freedom was drawn many years ago." This was not an article from the New York Times or Washington Post. It was from a speech by T. Coleman Andrews, Chairman of the Board and President, American Fidelity & Casualty Co., delivered on January 19, 1961. His speech was entitled 'Ripening Fruit.'
This was an excellent presentation of what was happening to our country at that time and explains what we are seeing today. Much of what was said in this speech are the same things that are providing the huge turnouts at the town hall meetings and Tea Parties. The following is more from that speech:
"First we will take Eastern Europe; next the masses of Asia; then we shall encircle the last bastion of capitalism, The United States of America. We shall not have to attack; it will fall like an overripe fruit into our hands."
"Thus boasted Lenin in his plan for the conquest of the world by the Communists. And what an unbelievable degree of success Lenin and those who have followed him have had in making good that boast! ...
"(Lenin) saw an easier way than fighting to bring about our end as a free people-that there were others who would do the job for them. Communists are realists, you know; they never fight for something that can be had without fighting. The Cardinal Mindszenty Foundation puts it this way:
"The Communist apparatus in America faithfully follows the dictum laid down by Dimitrov at the Lenin School of Political Warfare: 'Let our friends do the work. We must always remember that one sympathizer is generally worth more than a dozen militant communists.' "
"And who are the Communists' friends in America? Among their most effective friends are the Fabian Socialists-a growing cult of economists, sociologists, and other "thinkers" and masters of "gradualism." For more than a quarter of a century these borers from within have been so skillfully conditioning us for delivery into the Communists orbit that probably not one-in-ten of us has ever heard the name, Fabian Socialism, let alone become aware of the poison that its practitioners have been feeding us.
"There is something ironic in this, for it is indeed these people, these Fabians, who are actually pulling us apart. The Communists also are working, of course. But for each Communist there are many Fabians. We haven't become aware of them, one supposes, simply because we have had our eyes so glued to the Communist rat hole that we have failed to pay proper heed to the mice, the Fabians, gnawing away behind us.
"But these skulking cowards are worth our notice. They have a stripe only slightly different from that of their bully-boy brothers; they abhor violence. For all of that, they are no less dedicated to the destruction of Capitalism than are the Communists. And today, they, the Fabians, are everywhere around us-in growing numbers and strength. And the Communists chortle as they progress, for the Fabians are their allies. As these "gradualists" whittle away our freedom and soften us sufficiently to be taken over without fighting, they perform yeoman work for Moscow.
"The Fabian way may take a little longer than the coup d'état, the Communists reason, but there is no doubt in the Communists mind that "gradualism" is the better way…The pattern has been clear, and it has always been the same: The Fabian Socialists plow the ground, plant the seeds and tend the crop, and the Communists reap the harvest of another disillusioned people! Thus the Tyranny of ruthless dictatorship has been planned, developed and established throughout the world…
"In other words, Fabian Socialists don't like to work; they just like to think…The Fabian Socialists are malcontents and haters. They are destroyers, not builders. They hate capitalism and Capitalists. Therefore, capitalism and Capitalists must be destroyed and a classless, one-world society must be established under a communistic form of government-classless, that is, as to everybody but themselves; they would be the ruling class…
"The Fabian Socialists' paramount rule, therefore, is this: "Never admit you are a Socialist' pretend to be anything else; never show your hand."
"Does it begin to come home to you who in our government these people are?
"The drudgery of work is beneath them' they think and scheme and their chief weapons are stealth and deception. You'll find them everywhere in government except in the uniform of their country. They don't like military service any more than they like work…
"Fabians are experts at infiltration, and patience is their hallmark. Their plan is to ease us into socialism by indiscernible steps-"to put an end (to) capitalism by developing the communistic side of our civilization until communism (becomes) the dominant principle in society."
"Fabianism is like slow murder with arsenic; each dose is so small that is cannot be tasted; but accumulation eventually kills the unsuspecting victim. As Keynes once put it: "The trick is to get control of the government. Then the road to socialism is automatically assured."
"The Fabian Socialists call their method of operation "gradualism."
"Therein lies the primary difference between Fabian socialism and Communism. The Fabian Socialists' formula is infiltration and peaceful evolution. The Communists' formula is infiltration, coalition, revolution and forceful takeover. The end of both is destruction of Capitalism and personal liberty and the attainment of dictatorial power...
"As might have been expected, Fabian Socialism spread to the United States. But its adherents didn't gain perceptible political power here until after Franklin Delano Roosevelt became President. With his predilection for people whose political inclination was to the left, Roosevelt was completely taken in by Keynes. Consequently, not long after Roosevelt's first inauguration left-wing professors and brainwashed students began to descend upon Washington. They came from every direction, principally from the northeast…
"For nearly 30 years, the Fabian-inspired philosophy that has determined our decisions has been based on the notions that money will cure any ill. We have been taught to believe that when we have failed in matters that have involved the spending of money it has been because we did not spend enough-tax, tax, tax; spend, spend, spend!...
"For all of their effectiveness, neither the Fabian Socialists nor the Communists maintain political parties in this country-not as such. Their grand strategy is to infiltrate and covertly control the established parties. Were they to organize, maintain and work through political parties honestly identified as their own they would expose their hands, and that is the last thing they want to do.
"For an example of their strategy of infiltration and covert control, consider the plight of the Democratic Party. Their conquest of the party of Jackson is all but complete… It isn't that the Democratic Party sought either the Communists or the Fabians. The opposite is true. The Communists and Fabians sought the Democratic Party, and for a very good reason. The Democratic Party has the reputation of being the "party of the people," and the manipulation of people is what interests the Socialists and Communists. Moreover, they hate Capitalists, although they are not averse to adding the Republican Party, the "party of the Capitalists," to their bag…
"We must realize that we have already passed the time when we could afford the luxury of doing nothing about all this. We're in a war, a war as real as any the world has ever known, a subtle, stealthy, creeping war to the death; and we face a fanatically determined enemy. What is worse, the tide of battle is running in that enemy's favor, not ours. That kind of enemy in that kind of situation doesn't quit; he has to be defeated! Any person who thinks that we have "business-or anything else-as usual" and win this war is deceiving himself. Wars are won by people-fighting people…
That is what Mr. Andrews had to say about the Communists and Fabian Socialists. We now have the third group that wants to destroy our nation--the radical Muslims.
In a recent column, Cal Thomas discussing the so-called Muslim prayer rally in Washington said, "If you are an enemy of America seeking her destruction… you would do this largely through deception, putting on a peaceful face while subtly plotting ways to bring America down."
Thomas then said; "The organizer of the rally, Imam Abdul Malik of Brooklyn, N.Y., told Americans what we like to hear: "What we've done today, you couldn't do in any Muslim country. If you prayed on the palace lawn there, they'd lock you up."
Yet Thomas points out what Imam Malik has written on his Web Page: "Democracy is not revelation, and democracy does not equal freedom, for in democracy you have apartheid, you have slavery, you have homosexuality, you have lesbianism, you have gambling, you have all of the vices that are against the spirit of truth; so no we don't want to democratize Islam, we want to Islamize democracy…"
Today as we listen to radio, watch TV, or read newspapers we have a Yogi Berra moment; "it's déjà vu all over again."
