Time to take out the trash

Greetings from the West: Has anyone considered the actual meaning of the term "martial law"?

I'm eager to begin a discussion on this subject - let's get to it!!!!!!!!!!

Just got a notice from GOE (gatheringofeagles.org) that Obama's state dept. is going to do an end run around the congress by banning import of .50 cal, 7.62x39, 5.56, .223, etc. Info came down thru some Canadian diplomat. Won't have to take the guns. Just cut off the ammo.

This should detail it for you:
Regardless of your political affiliation you must understand we are in real trouble.

First you establish emergency centers on military bases under the guise of having emergency help available to the people in case of emergency, then code all handgun and assault weapon ammunition and require disposal of all non coded ammunition, that is held by a citizen or a vendor, add a 50% tax increase to gasoline to cover road maintenance, add to that a requirement that all hand guns, semiautomatic firearms that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device be licensed in the entire country. Order 50,000 troops to be deployed inside the country also request the help of troops from neighboring countries to help with maintaining the peace inside your country. It sounds a lot like someone is trying to take over a country, and is afraid of resistance and that somebody is our president, I really wanted to believe that everything we were hearing and reading up to the elections was just hype, one party saying things about another at the hopes of winning a vote or two. But every thing that I just outlined is either already in the works in some states or is in a bill that will easily pass both house and senate because they have no real resistance now that they have the majority in both houses and a few turn coats willing to sell out the Americans right along with them.

Each thing taken by itself does not seem so ominous but taken together seems almost too horrid to be true. Then when you add to those the so – called fairness doctrine a bill that its sole purpose is to stifle freedom of speech and hear our supposed leaders speak of it as if it is the best thing since sliced bread and then you take into account that they will more than likely be able to pass both it and the home grown terrorist act which is aimed at anyone who might seek to go against any of this, you start to really get a very vivid picture of what life is going to be like in the next four years and it is not a pretty picture at all. I think we all know by now if something radical is not done we will end up with government healthcare and they will decide who will be allowed treatment, already Nancy Pelosi has alluded to the fact that if we would just have less children our economy would rebound a lot quicker. So what will happen under mandated government health care when your chronically ill Mother goes to one of the government sponsored health care facilities will she be terminated because she is nothing more than a burden to our economy?

We are not talking about an election here anymore people, we are talking about the unthinkable, the unimaginable and what is staring us right in the face, we have been taken over by the socialists, we were shamed into voting for a man who to date has not been verified as even being an American citizen. A man whose major help in the election came from ACORN who was under investigation for voter fraud until that magically went away and a man who one of his very first spending bills gave them $2million dollars. A man who has saddled us with a $798billion dollar tax bill and plans another $2trillion dollar stimulus for the banks in the coming months, which refuses to extend the drilling leases in the Gulf and has or will reenact the drilling ban inside the USA, this is not sour grapes, this is a sobering look at what our future is, higher gas prices, a 50% gas tax hike, so – called emergency bases, troops stationed on our streets, mandatory licensing of weapons and ammunition, and you start to understand that this was no where near a normal election we just went through and regardless of your political affiliation you must understand we are in real trouble.

Ooops! I'm sorry about the duplication. I'm learning how to work this forum.

The actions you list in your reply are what they are doing under the guise of "martial law"; more accurately, "martial rule". This is not what I meant though.

Consider this: Only the people, the sovereigns, have the authority to institute martial law. This is simple fact.

Martial law is the cessation of representative government by an act of the sovereign. We, the people, by instituting martial law, withdraw all delegations of authority given by the Constitution of the united states of America, and all state constitutions; and, resume direct rule in all localities of the confederation, as if there had never been a constitution. No public servant, including the President, has authority to declare martial law. This act constitutes rebellion against, and invasion of the independent nation states of the confederation and the Constitution provides the remedy for these acts at Aricle 1, section 8, clause 15 and Article 4, section 4.

It's time to begin a real constitutional study and realize what this document really says and who says it. We are the government.

Well Larry, Webster's dictionary defines the term, "Martial Law" as: 1: The law applied in occupied territory by the military authority of the occupying power. 2: The law administered by military forces that is invoked by a government in an emergency when the civilian law enforcement agencies are unable to maintain public order and safety. Nowhere in that definition supplied by Mr. Webster is it implied, nor is it stated that our right, as guaranteed by the Constitution to keep and bear arms is in anyway suspended or done away with. In fact, as citizens of this nation we are told by this same constitution in the second Amendment that: A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. Now, in the above quoted amendment there is not any statement made nor is there any exception made or implied that our 2nd amendment rights are abridged, suspended or in any way done away with where any situation that requires martial law is enforced. But, in New Orleans after hurricane katrina, during the enforcement of martial law, the citizen's firearms were taken and NEVER RETURNED, unless they could show ownership. And at that there were quite a few of the citizens who could and did show ownership that never had their weapons given back. Now, stop and think of this: the federal government now has what they call a "legal precedent" for taking our guns away in what they deem to be an, "emergency situation". Does anyone else besides me see the contradiction here?
